SNEYD JOINS AS TIGERS TECHNICAL COACH

Castleford Tigers are delighted to announce the appointment of Marc Sneyd as Technical Coach on a two-year contract.
Sneyd returns to The OneBore Stadium in a coaching capacity, bringing a wealth of experience following a playing career spanning more than 300 Super League appearances with Salford, Castleford, Hull FC and Warrington. The 35 year old will take on the coaching role alongside his Championship playing career with Salford, allowing him to pass on his experience while continuing to compete on the field.

A familiar face to the Tigers faithful, Sneyd spent the 2014 season in black and amber, making 31 appearances across all competitions and scoring 262 points as Cas reached the Challenge Cup Final and secured a fourth-place Super League finish.
Renowned for his kicking game, composure and ability to control a contest, Sneyd went on to enjoy back-to-back Challenge Cup triumphs with Hull FC in 2016 and 2017. He claimed the prestigious Lance Todd Trophy as player of the match in both finals, before winning the award for a third time with Warrington in 2025.
His individual achievements also include selection in the 2024 Super League Dream Team and winning the Albert Goldthorpe Medal that same year, recognising an outstanding season with Salford.
"Yeah, I'm happy to be able to do it", said Sneyd. "I Spoke to Rowls not too long ago about potentially being able to do it, and luckily enough, spoke with Salford as well to make sure there were no clashes going to be happening there. And look, it's something that I obviously want to do in the long run. So to have a chance to be able to coach in a full time Super League system, it was an option that I really wanted to do."
"A lot of learning and obviously giving a bit of advice probably when I can. They've obviously already got Robbo there, Grixy is already there, and Rowls is a really hands-on coach as I know from having him as a coach at Salford. So I'll just be in and around all of it really, and adding where I can doing a bit of the skill-based stuff and things like that. I'm looking forward to getting started."
Director of Rugby Chris Chester added: “We’re delighted to bring Marc into our coaching staff for the next two seasons. He’s got a fantastic rugby league brain, a huge amount of experience and a real understanding of what it takes to perform at the highest level."
“Marc has been a top player throughout his career, and I’m confident he can bring a great deal to our environment. His knowledge of the game, attention to detail and ability to pass on his experience will be a real asset to our players. Marc will join a new coaching team for the Castleford Tigers in the 2027 season with Paul Rowley, Simon Grix and Luke Robinson.”
