Mini Magic Festival Brings Community Clubs Together at the Onebore Stadium

On Sunday 30th August, we were delighted to host our inaugural Mini Magic Festival at the Onebore Stadium, welcoming Under-7s and Under-8s teams from community clubs across the land for a memorable day of rugby, entertainment and celebration.
The event got off to a fantastic start as our Master of Ceremonies and regular entertainment provider, Wayne ‘Wagga’ Godwin, welcomed the teams and families to the stadium. Players then enjoyed a special entrance, with each team announced individually before running through the players’ tunnel and onto our new 4G pitch ahead of the opening games.
Throughout the day, music from the DJ helped create a lively atmosphere as the clubs took part in fixtures across the pitch. The festival also included plenty of fun off the field, with coaches joining in during the half-time interval for a drop goal challenge led by Wagga. His trademark energy and humour brought plenty of laughs from the watching crowd.
A special moment followed when first-team players came onto the field to meet the young players, offering photo and autograph opportunities that kept the smiles going before the final games of the day took place.
To mark the occasion, every player received a medal and certificate in recognition of their part in the first Mini Magic Festival.
“It was great to see all the community clubs come together, making memories for life, with smiling faces and rugby being played throughout the day… there she is!” said Wayne ‘Wagga’ Godwin.
We would like to thank all the players, coaches, volunteers and spectators who helped make the day such a success, including representatives from Kippax Welfare, Lock Lane, Seacroft Sharks, Stanley Rangers, Fryston Warriors, Goole Vikings, Wibsey Warriors, Hunslet, Castleford Panthers, Ossett Trinity, Methley Warriors and Bronte Barbarians.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for a brilliant celebration of community rugby. We look forward to welcoming you all back for the next Mini Magic Festival in 2027.
